NSW Homelessness Program

MASP Specialist Homelessness Service aims to assist young people (16 and above), families and adults who homelessness or at risk of homelessness, including those experiencing family violence, to obtain and/or maintain safe stable accommodation and address their support needs.

The program also aims to empower those experiencing difficulty managing the demands of their current tenancy in an effort to prevent housing breakdown and homelessness. The service will be provided to people in the Dareton township and Wentworth LGA and available as outreach or telephone to smaller outlying communities.

Types of support and assistance include:

- Information regarding accommodation options in the local area.
- Advice and referral to successfully link clients with appropriate services.
- Assistance with access and/or referral to appropriate accommodation providers.
- Assistance with applications and provide advocacy for public and private rental housing.
- Early intervention strategies for young people at risk of homelessness via assistance to access family mediation.
- Personal crisis support and referral where appropriate.
- Case management support to provide ongoing housing support and assistance.
- Promotion of independence and self-reliance through providing opportunities to develop living/life skills.
- Assessment and access to financial assistance.


Access to the program is via referral from a local community organisation, government departments or by self -referral (walk in or telephone). An appointment will then be made with a worker for an initial assessment to determine eligibility and support.

Alternatively people can contact Link2Home on 1800152152. Link2home is a single state-wide information and referral service available 24hours a day, 7 days a week. Trained staff will assess the person’s needs, and, if needed refer to the local homelessness service for support.
